Adventures in Odyssey unveils first movie poster

Focus on the Family posted Thursday the first official poster for Adventures in Odyssey The Movie. The Instagram and Facebook accounts for the film put it up the same afternoon, calling it the first time they were sharing the one-sheet. Downloads are on the movie site.

The title on the paper is Journey into the Impossible. It is a prequel to the Focus on the Family audio drama that has run since 1987, coming to theaters in 2027. Inventor John Avery Whittaker moves his family to Odyssey for a fresh start, then gets pulled into a hunt his childhood mentor left behind. Dave Arnold, the series’ executive producer, is producing. John Pomeroy, the Disney supervising animator, designed the new look.

Whit is front and center with a magnifying glass. Jenny is at his left, Jason at his right, Ben Huck behind them, a sugar glider in the air, and a giant face in the sky over a mine. The FAQ says this is Whit, Jenny, and teenage Jason, years before Whit’s End. Connie, Eugene, and Wooton are later.

Pomeroy’s designs are already moving onto the audio-drama brand so a first-time movie viewer can find the albums. A streaming series is planned after the theatrical run, using the same digital models. Voice cast and theater listings have not been named. Focus on the Family is still running a launch-team campaign to help finish the picture and get it into theaters.

December’s studio announcement had pointed at fall 2026. The one-sheet now says 2027, which is the window on the upcoming board.
