[...] Networking - This Saturday, any filmmaker (currently working, retired, aiming to be a filmmaker, interested in films) interested in rubbing shoulders and exchanging ideas/phone numbers with other professional filmmakers (especially those working within Hollywood) should attend the annual Biola Media Conference. It’s an almost-captive audience. And when else will you have the opportunity to walk the streets of CSI: New York? Maybe many times when your TV career takes off, but until then, this is a great chance to be on the CBS studio lot! [...]

I have been enjoying the book "Facing Your Giants" by Max Lucado. I have been challenged in a number of things during my time with this book. I have it checked out from our church library and I have asked my wife to get a copy for me for Christmas because I should return it to the library. I have been speaking of it to a couple of others and they want to read it.

Anyway, this networking idea is good. I have felt challenged at times to have some songs I have written shared with a larger audience. But I don't really have a network outside of our small local church to connect with others who write and sing Worship songs. I, too, am very much an introvert. But as GOD has been challenging me to face my giants, I realize that now may be the time for me to stretch beyond my comfort zone (as you have mentioned).

I was interested to note that you have the same name as our pastor's daughter. "Walker" is her married name. Such a lovely lady!

I am new to this area of the internet and was wondering how I could be notified of changes / additions when I noticed below the "Submit" button the check box for "Notify me of comments to this post".

I look forward to further information on this subject.

God bless you ... and thank you for sharing this encouraging information.

Hi Matt - No, she didn't mention any sources. It was more the value of those personal connections that you make in a daily setting. I'll see you Thursday - looking forward to it!

So true Angela... I'm curious if Susan mentioned any resources she uses for networking (ie: LinkedIn, Cannes, etc...). See you Thursday night!
