Film Teaser Trailers
I just received this link to a “teaser clip” for the film “Fatal Flaw” by my friend Joseph Q. Simpkins ( I need to find out what the “Q” stands for). Go to the website and click on “clips” and you’ll see their teaser.
Yesterday I got an email from Joe, “Did you see our teaser?” Well, yes, but there wasn’t much there. When I told Joe that, he said, “Sorry, didn’t mean to tease you.” [I think that was said tongue-in-cheek.]
I know the purpose of a teaser trailer is just to let people know the film is on its way (see the Wikipedia entry about this), so he accomplished what he set out to do. I know “Fatal Flaw” is coming.
Check it out. What are some of your favorite teasers? If you’ve seen teasers for other indie films, post the links here.
Did you know that the original teaser trailer (filmed in early 2001) for “Spider-Man” included a shot of a spiderweb spun between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center? After the 9/11 disaster, the trailer was recalled, as were posters that had a picture of Spider-Man between the Twin Towers.

I have always been a great fan of well made Trailers for movies. Something that gets you thinking — I’ve got to go see that movie. A good one will truly graab you. There was a really great discussion on trailers being better than the movie and their technique on this christianfilmmaker thread:

Thanks Angela,
The “Q” stands for Quinn. I’ve had some friends over the years call me Quinn and at one point it was my stage name.
I really appreciate all the blogging Angela has done about us she has made us feel good about what we are doing, THANKS!!
