Shocking the Audience
If you follow entertainment news at all, you’ve probably heard the story of Susan Boyle, a 47-year-old woman from Scotland who wowed the audience, judges, and the world with her performance on Britain’s Got Talent. Coming out onto stage, the audience took one look at Susan’s appearance and dismissed her as someone who couldn’t possibly have anything they’d be interested in.
Just a few seconds later and they were on their feet applauding and whistling, amazed by the incredible voice singing “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Miserables. It was all over the news, YouTube, and even Twitter as millions expressed their astonishment.
If you can’t judge a book by its cover, why should you think you can judge art by its cover?
When was the last time the theater audience was amazed like that? Wouldn’t it be great to create a film so stunning that the world would be on its feet acknowledging the power of its performance, despite its humble beginnings?

Dear Angela, I absolutely agree. It s amazing to me how we as humans can be so full of prejudices and not even give a chance to someone that doesn’t look like we think they should look like! Thank God He looks at the heart!
I think it would be great and it is time to make films highlighting someone that would not be even accepted by the “mainstream mentality” and show he/she can do extraordinary things. I am sure they are many out there…
Blessings,
Alicia
