Sequels Anyone?
This week Thou Shalt Laugh: The Deuce was released on DVD. Directed by Phil Cooke and produced by Jonathan Bock, it’s the sequel to the popular Thou Shalt Laugh, which was hosted by Patricia Heaton. This time around the host is Tim Conway, one of my favorite comedians in the world. He has done mostly voice-over work lately (Hermie of Hermie & Friends), so it was great to see him return to center stage.
Personally, I was disappointed that Conway didn’t have more stage time, but the rest of the comedians kept me howling with laughter. “Saturday Night Live” alum Victoria Jackson did a hysterical routine, incorporating a surprising physical element in her act. I won’t give it away; you have to watch it for yourself. Altogether, this sequel succeeded. You need to watch it!
