People Talk about Michael Landon, Jr.
You can tell a lot about a person by the things others say about them. Recently, in preparation for an interview with Michael Landon, Jr. (right), I watched behind the scenes footage from The Last Sin Eater. Here are some of the things his actors said about him as a director.
He knows exactly what he wants, which is ideal in a director.
- Stewart Finlay-McLennan (Brogan Kai) – He’s a hands-off director and comes in when needed.
- Henry Thomas (Man of God) – He has the best qualities in a director. He knows exactly what he wants and expects of actors in a scene and shot. He communicates very articulately and there’s no doubt left in the actor’s mind what he’s expecting. He has been an actor and can relate to what we’re going through.
- Louise Fletcher (Miz Elda) – He’s sweet and easygoing. He knows exactly what he wants, which is ideal in a director.
- Peter Wingfield (The Sin Eater) – He sets the tone. He’s very calm and relaxed, and clear on what he’s looking for. Michael gave me one note today, just one, and that is the reason that I’m any good in this scene. He’s a great director. Most of the time he keeps his mouth shut and lets us do our thing, then gives us feedback on what we’re doing.
What are people saying about you?
Keep an eye on our Movie News section for his interview.

Michael Landon, Jr. is a truly fantastic director. I have loved his films since the Love Series. One of his most recent films just came out on DVD, Saving Sarah Cain and it’s fantastic. I didn’t get a chance to see it when it was Lifetime but it was worth the wait.

We are planning to do a public showing in our church in Belgium of “The Last Sin Eater” but aren’t able to contact the right people in Europe to be able to pay the public display rights. Fox Faith has no division in Europe, neither does as far as I know Ibelievepictures. Any chance you could help me to the email adres of Michael Landon Jr. (as already mentioned the info@ibelievepictures.com doesn’t work !)
I hope to get it fast since the showing is coming close !
Permission from the film house is always possible and would enable us to reach unbelievers with the movie …

Love’s Unfolding Dream comes out today and I can’t wait. I know that I’ll be curled up in front of the tube with a big bowl of popcorn cheering Belinda on!
Janette Oke and Michael Landon, Jr. are wonderful. Some people are upset because the films vary from the books but they are still wonderful.

Hi Mary – Probably the best way to contact Michael is through the production company Believe Pictures. There is a “contact us” link on the site.

I am also trying to get through to Michael Ladon Jr. I have music that I have written that he needs to hear. I believe this music is meant for one of his films. God just keep laying this on my heart. I keep seeking to get in touch with Mr. Landon.
Please, Please help me get this music to him. I’ve been working on this all my life.
I have tried the Believe Pictures email and I get blocked. I’ll keep trying. Could you or someone forward this email to him?
Thank you so much and God Bless.

They are about to go into production in Canada next week, so probably very busy right now. I have not seen a street address for them. I’d suggest trying IMDB – with the Pro version, you can look up production companies, and they usually list office addresses.

Good Morning,
I have some beautiful music that I’ve written over the past 35 years and I feel directed to send it to Michael Landon Jr. for one of his films. How would you suggest that I get this music in his hands?
Thank you so much for your help.

Good morning Susan,
I would suggest that you try contacting Michael through his production company: Believe Pictures. Upon going to their website, click the “about us” link, then there is a “contact us” option under that link.
He is going into production next week in Canada, so is very busy at this time and may not have time to respond very quickly to him.

I have written a book called Swing Low about my experiences with manic depression. I believe it would make an amazing movie. Here is the blurb from the back of the book:
Meet Karen Blackwell: the actress, the singer, musician and manager of a Christian Rock Band, the private investigator, the army recruit and, finally, the latest patient at the State’s mental hospital.
Miraculously Karen cheated death during the years leading up to her hospitalization, as she mixed alcohol, cocaine and an all too trusting lifestyle with the undetected mental illness.
Who knows where Karen would be today had she not cried out to Jesus…
But He said unto me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. (2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV)
As you read Swing Low, you will laugh and cry, but most of all you will truly appreciate Karen’s humble honesty.
I hope that someone at Believe Pictures will give me a mailing address, so I can forward the story to them. God bless you!
Love in Christ,
Karen Blackwell

Michael produced and directed a movie here in canada. The movie was called “When Calls The Heart”. Production was halted due to lack of funds. The crew hasn’t been paid. The cast hasn’t been paid.
Several members of the cast were children enjoying their first experience of acting in a film.
Not a phone call, not a note, not a word of explaination or apology.

I know Michael Landon, Jr. did the Sin Eater by Francine Rivers.
Has he ever considered doing “Redeeming Love” by the same author, based on Hosea of the Bible. It would make a wonderful movie. Best book I have ever read on unconditional love!!
April 10th, 2009 at 6:46 am
Linda,
“Redeeming Love” is the book title most frequently brought up by readers as a great basis for a film. You’re right! Excellent material & would make an astounding movie done right.
I do know the film option rights has changed hands a couple of times, and I believe that right now it’s in the hands of someone who could do a wonderful job with it. But it’s a really long road from novel to finished film, and fraught with complications.
Hopefully the people who have the rights now will be able to do something with it.
At this point, it’s not Michael Landon, Jr.’s company.

This message is for Michael Landon Jr.
I am in the process of writing a novel and would like to make your father one of the leading persons in it. He would be God’s right hand angel, sent to help a man on earth accomplish something that would help Jesus bring about the catastrophic finish to the battle of Armageddon.I could send a few chapters and a whole CD to review.
I feel this book should be written and on the shelves soon. If you know any good publishers who would be interested, or it sounds like a good story for a movie, please let me know…I call it E-MAIL FROM HEAVEN. God sends a message to everyone in view of a monitor. It is a warning that The Rapture will be upon the earth within 100 days. Write and let me know what you think.
Thank you…Charles Tevis

Have been trying for years to get a response from Michael Landon and or anyone from Believe Pictures….. I have original music that would be perfect for a film from him. All I need is a response and I would be glad to mail him a demo. He is really missing out here. He needs to hear this music.
