Married Christians Can Have Great Sex
Everything that I’ve read about writing says a great headline is the way to attract readers. So, now that I’ve got your attention, I really do want to talk about sex. Please don’t close the browser, call our office, or call me any names until you read through this post.
It is rare in films to see sex portrayed as something that is enjoyed within a monogamous relationship, let alone a marriage. More commonly, married couples are shown to have boring or non-existent sex lives, and that the real excitement comes from having a relationship outside of marriage. When “Desperate Housewives” first aired on television, I thought it was extremely ironic that the opening graphic was Adam and Eve holding the forbidden fruit. Were the producers trying to warn us of danger, or have they not read the rest of the story?
Producer/Director Dallas Jenkins (Hometown Legend, Midnight Clear) said he wants some of his movies to promote the idea that Christian monogamous couples can have, and often do have, good sex. He doesn’t want to necessarily show it, but he does want to allude to it. “Contrary to pop culture media representation, the couples in my movies will have hot sex lives,” he said.
Newlywed comedians Kerri Pomarolli and Ron McGehee are producing half-hour videos about making their adjustments to married life. The first episode will air on Sky Angel Home Satellite Television System on Saturday, June 23 at 8:00 PM EST. You can also see portions of the video online at the I Love Kerri website.
There’s been much discussion about the need for Christian art to be more creative - I think this fits the bill.
