MAC vs. PC

Are you a MAC or a PC? Are you the cool guy with the casual clothes who doesn’t need to brag about his prowess, or are you the slightly dumpy guy who has to have corrective lenses and consistently apologize for your software’s poor performance?

Now there’s a new campaign in town: I’m a PC. On their website, they start with a simple statement: “A billion diverse and unique PC users have been defined by one actor in an advertisement. But now they have spoken, shown their faces, and taken their PCness back.”

PC took a different approach from MAC. Rather than trying to “out-cool” MAC on their commercials, or come up with a killer comparison concept, “I’m a PC” stuck with what they know best: their capabilities and why users are so satisfied. Watch their commercials and you won’t see stereotypes. You’ll see the people who break stereotypes. They call it “Life Without Walls.”

When tempted to compare yourself and your films to someone else, take the PC way. Stand on your own merits. Tell us your capabilities and how you stand out from the crowd. Don’t compare yourself to someone else – you never know if you’ll look like the cool guy or the dork.

One Response to “MAC vs. PC”

i completely agree. as an swimmer, i was always comparing my times with other people’s. it took me awhile to realize that my performance compared to someone else’s does not matter anywhere near as much as how i have personally improved or grown. it really opened my eyes and made me see that i shouldn’t compare myself with others; my best and someone else’s best are two entirely different things, just like i am an entirely unique person, and to compare my actions with someone else’s would be like comparing apples and oranges.
