Living Out the Message
In the past few months, death has visited several well-known Christian families.
Steven Curtis Chapman’s family lost their 5-year-old daughter and sister in a tragic accident.
Singer Nicol Sponberg’s infant son Luke died in May of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome).
Gospel singer Timothy Wright was injured in a car crash that killed his wife.
And today, we learned of the death of evangelist Greg Laurie’s son, Christopher in a car accident.
Spread the Message. Through art, through conversation, through your life.
Death happens every day, to people everywhere. It is perhaps the single greatest test of our faith. If we really believe there is a God, and that He saves and gives us eternal life, then our hope lasts beyond the number of our years.
It is that hope that separates us from those who have none. And while we will have sadness because of our loss, we will also one day have the joy of being reunited (Revelation 21:3 - 5a).
If nothing else, these tragedies remind us that our days are numbered. And not only ours, but those of everyone else around us. Treasure the days you have and make the most of them.
If you know someone far from the Kingdom, invite them in. You know the Message, spread it. Tell it through film, through music, through the written word, through your life.
