“Fissure” Movie

I ran across a movie called Fissure the other day. Don’t ask how I found it. I just did. It looks very interesting. Not safe, but interesting. So I decided to contact the producer (Russ Pond). That’s what I do; it’s part of my job to find people making films and get into their business. You might think that sounds nosy, but what it means is I try to figure out how ChristianCinema.com can help filmmakers by advertising their films (theatrical and DVD) and offering them for sale on our site.

I read through the Fissure website and found a link to Russ Pond’s blog called Filmmaker Blog. It’s a terrific blog. In fact, I’ve been after the producers I work with to do the same thing. It’s a great description of the process an independent filmmaker goes through to put something into production. Russ also talks about the shift from working in the business world to producing films. For anyone wanting to get into the filmmaking business, you want to take a look at his blog.

Wouldn’t it be great if other filmmakers would follow this example and share their insights? Filmmaking is very competitive in many ways, but there is a huge audience hungry for new films to watch, so why not help each other out?

Looks very interesting – at least from a storyline perspective. Though it also feels a bit like a mash up of several recent popular films/books. I’ll try and get my hands on it though.

PS – Great movie & with an underlying message of hope and redemption through just one act of prayer.

I stumbled upon your website and would like to talk to you about our film http://www.aslthemovie.com I’m a volunteer youth worker that felt passionately about making movies with a message. We choose this first film dealing with the struggles with the internet. Please take a look and if you think there is merit please call or email me.
