Everything’s Bigger in Texas

Doug Phillips, founder of the San Antonio Christian Film Festival, announced today they will offer the largest cash prize in film festival: $101,000. The prize will be offered at next January’s festival in San Antonio, Texas.

In remarks, Phillips stated that “Our mission is not to infiltrate Hollywood, nor merely to temper its distasteful agenda, but to replace it altogether. . . The world class grand prize sends a message that Christians are serious about investing in those independent Christian filmmakers who are willing to work outside of Hollywood, and to produce competitive films of technical excellence, with a presuppositionally biblical message.”

For the first time in 2009, the SAICFF is including feature films, promotional advertisements, and commercial media in its line-up of Jubilee Award winning categories.

Film submission deadlines are November 1 for features and October 1 for all other categories. Go here for more information.
