Atlanta in July
In just a couple of weeks, two significant events for Christian filmmakers and distributors will take place in Atlanta, Georgia. The International Christian Retail Show (ICRS), Christian retailers’ largest trade show, opens the week. Retailers and distributors from around the world, as well as authors and musicians, will gather for workshops, to exchange ideas and discover new products.
Right on the heels of ICRS is the annual International Christian Visual Media (ICVM) Catalyst Conference. Culminating with the presentation of the 2007 Crown Awards, it’s 4 fun and information-packed days focused on Christian filmmaking. With seminar titles like “Butts, Hearts and Eyeballs” and “Legal Boot Camp for Producers” it’s sure to be an educating and entertaining conference. It’ll be my first time to attend, and I’m looking forward to it. I know a lot of the attendees through phone conversations and e-mails, and can’t wait to meet them in person.
An enjoyable part of the ICVM conference (besides the Braves’ baseball game and innovative displays of the Canadian flag) is the screening of some unreleased films, as well as the late-night philosophical discussions that happen when passionate people discuss the things nearest and dearest to their hearts.
If you’re going to be at either one of these shows, let’s connect! You can e-mail me (angela@christiancinema.com) to set up a meeting time and place.
