10 Commandments & a Happy Meal

A recent study released by the 10 Commandments Commission revealed that more Americans are familiar with the ingredients of a Big Mac than the 10 Commandments.

2 all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun.

I mentioned this to a friend and her reply was, “There’s no 10 Commandments song.” She’s right. I can easily sing the tune for the Big Mac. It was an advertising gimmick that’s been around a long time.

Who would you get to write a song for the 10 Commandments? And, who could do it so it’s catchy, has fewer than 10 verses, and will be easily memorized?

Promenade Pictures, makers of the new animated 10 Commandments movie, had bookmarks made that use the acronym I AM THE LORD to help people remember the 10 Commandments. We’re looking forward to the release of this film, which stars the vocal talents of Elliott Gould as God and Christian Slater as Moses.

A few lucky customers from ChristianCinema.com will win packages that include 1 free movie ticket, a T-shirt, and full-size movie poster. All purchases between now and October 15th will be entered in the prize drawing. Bookmarks will also be inserted in random packages between now and October 15th. Winners’ names will be published on this blog and on our website October 16th, so be sure to come back and see if you’re one of the winners.

Be sure and join us the weekend of October 19th to support this new film, the first of 12 Epics of the Bible. And vote now for your choice to write the catchy “10 Commandments” theme song. (Bono? Michael W. Smith? Jay-Z?)
